The Shack recordings were the result of a 2 week hideaway in an old run down country frame house in East Texas, with myself, Chester Kamen (Roger Waters, Brian Ferry) and Dale Davis (Amy Winehouse, Tina Turner). It was November of 2001. We had been doing extensive touring and really wanted to have some time writing and primitively recording demos for a possible follow up album to The May Street Project. It was a special time for us as friends and musical partners, and somehow managed to capture the undefined season we were all in. We tried many years later to re-record some of these songs "properly" in a studio upon our return to London, however we were unable to recreate the strange magic we found in the shack. So here it is. -Shea
